Manage intercom contact names

Activate and manage intercom calls and contact names

If you skipped the intercom call activation during onboarding, you can activate the calls by adding your name as a new contact name to the intercom (if allowed by your administrator). You can also manage your intercom contact name, and the related phone numbers behind the contact name for video and audio calls from the intercom.

Note: If your intercom includes a physical accessibility keypad, the system automatically generates an intercom shortcut number for you that displays under MY BUILDING > Intercom setting. Instead of touch screen, visually impaired can use the shortcut number to dial you with the intercom's keypad

Add contact names (activate intercom call)

Delete contact names (deactivate intercom call)

Add contact names

  1. Open KONE Flow.
  2. Tap Menu -> MY BUILDING -> Intercom setting.
  3. Tap ADD NEW CONTACT.
  4. Enter a contact name.
    This name is displayed on the intercom.
  5. Select a smartphone from the list to receive intercom video calls.
    For more information if your smartphone is not visible on the list, refer to Register new smartphone or replace old smartphone.
  6. Alternatively, fill in the phone number to receive audio only intercom calls.
    Note: The access code for opening the door during an audio call is visible on this page.
  7. Tap SAVE.
    Note: Adding a new intercom audio or video call connection consumes one corresponding license. You can free up licenses by deleting old contact names.

Delete contact names

  1. Open KONE Flow.
  2. Tap Menu -> MY BUILDING -> Intercom setting.
    Note: First disconnect video and audio calls before you can delete the whole contact name.
  3. Tap trashcan after the device to disconnect video calls.
  4. Tap the pencil-shaped button -> DELETE after audio call to disconnect audio calls.
  5. Tap the pencil-shaped button -> DELETE after the contact name to delete the contact name.

Add smartphones to existing contact name

One contact name can have multiple smartphones linked to receive video calls from the intercom.

Note: If you link multiple smartphones to the same contact name, the intercom calls all linked smartphones at the same time. The first one to answer gets the call.

  1. Open KONE Flow.
  2. Tap Menu -> MY BUILDING -> Intercom setting.
  3. Tap ADD NEW SMARTPHONE for a contact name.
  4. Select a smartphone from the list to receive intercom video calls.
    For more information if your smartphone is not visible on the list, refer to Register new smartphone or replace old smartphone.
  5. Tap SAVE.
    The new smartphone displays under the contact name.
